RSSDrum and Monkey scoops CAMRA Award

Congratulations to general manager Roddy Young and the team from the Drum & Monkey in Glasgow on winning with Glasgow CAMRA Pub of Year award 2011.
Stan Thompson, Secretary of CAMRA Glasgow and West of Scotland Branch, has given this wonderful and iconic Nicholson's pub an absolutely glowing review, as follows:
"There can be many reasons for a CAMRA branch to give a pub an award for their Pub of the Year. Obviously the quality and choice of the beer is important but we might consider the attitude of the staff to be outstanding or that the pub has been one of the most improved over the past year. In the case of the Drum and Monkey all three of these apply."
"The quality of the beer has been very good and, along with the choice, has attracted many high scores in our scoring system. And the improvement can be judged as the pub only gained its first entry in the national CAMRA Good Beer Guide out in September."
"In addition, the staff are always keen and knowledgeable, suggesting new and interesting beers when available and quick to note when a beer is finished and let people know what beer is coming next which never seems to take very long."
"Thus I am happy to present the award of the Glasgow Pub of the Year to the Drum and Monkey and feel it is well deserved."
An incredible testimonial - well done to Roddy and the team!
