A fascinating past
Intriguingly, our cellars have many passages that lead to Windsor Castle which were used until the early 19th Century but have now been bricked up. Built in 1518, The Carpenters Arms has a continuous history as public house and etchings on the windows reflect our name and the likely clientele of carpenters. The Crooked House, which sits opposite our pub, is of similar age.
One of a kind
The Carpenters Arms is one of many rare gems in the Nicholson's collection of great British pubs, reputed for their distinctive buildings, intriguing history and vibrant atmosphere.
Famous for tunnels that lead from the cellars to Windsor Castle
