A fascinating past
The St Georges Tavern takes centre stage in the history of entertainment as the 'Godfather of the music hall, Charles Morton, transformed us from a restaurant to a saloon to put on entertainment. In 1840 we were converted so the wealthy could enjoy their night out with the various acts who did a 'turn'. We were one of the first venues in London to provide such entertainment.
