Things may be a little different for a while, but we’ll continue to find ways to give you the best dining experience available. For your continued safety, we’re also enhancing our high standards of hygiene even further. So, no matter the occasion, you can expect the Nicholsons experience you deserve without compromising safety or comfort. Shall we prepare you a table?
We’re so excited to see you again. Across the country we're opening up a number of pubs for bookings from April.
Plus, we’re over to moon to now be taking online bookings from 17th May, when we fully open our doors once more.
In our English and Welsh pubs we will be serving a reduced menu, and whilst all your favourites may not be available right now, don’t worry, there is still something for everyone.
We’re not able to open all our pubs until 17th May and with those that are open, we need to be flexible with our opening hours. Please make sure you check your local Nicholsons before your visit. All the latest information is also on the social media pages of each local pub.
We wish we could guarantee springtime sun, but if the weather isn’t on our side, we won’t be able to accommodate you inside until 17th May*, as per government guidelines. We’re crossing our fingers for sun...
*Excludes Scotland where we will be able to open indoors and outdoors
To avoid handling cash as much as possible, we're encouraging contactless payments. The contactless limit for card payments is £45, and you can also use Apple and Google Pay. It’s never been easier!

For the safety of our beloved team and guests, it’s mandatory to wear a face covering when moving around our bar and restaurant indoors. However, you won’t need to wear a mask when seated at your table, so you can enjoy seasonal dishes and drinks to your heart’s content.
We’ve deep-cleaned every Nicholsons ahead of re-opening and our thorough cleaning routines have been increased, keeping you safe all day, every day. As normal, every table is cleaned between guests, meaning you can embrace the joy of Nicholsons from the moment you sit down.
Before we can legally serve you it’s now mandatory, due to government guidelines, that ALL guests provide their contact details for NHS Test and Trace purposes.
Our teams have been working tirelessly to ensure we can operate safely and provide the same level of great service.
We’ve compiled a list of questions and answers that will explain how our changes may affect your Nicholsons visit. These changes ensure we can meet the current advice from the UK Government to keep our guests and teams safe.
We ask all our guests to be respectful of these policies when they visit us.
If you have any of the following symptoms, please do not visit our pubs:
The safety of our guests and team members is our top priority. In order to keep everyone safe we are only able to accept bookings of a maximum of 6 people online. Children and babies need to be included in the maximum number per booking as per above.
It’s really important that you check that you will comply with local restrictions on the number of people from different households that can safely socialise before you book with us.
In order to meet the current UK Government guidance on safe distancing in our bar/restaurants, we have had to make some changes to our layouts. Please make sure you speak to a team member before sitting down at a table, even if it's unoccupied.
We operate on a strict table service basis. Guests are not permitted to order or wait at bar areas. Our team members will be pleased to help you.
For our open sites, some of our opening times may be slightly different whilst we continue to operate with social distancing policies in place. While we are trying to keep our websites as update to date as possible, for the most accurate opening times please call the restaurant or pub directly, or again their Facebook site.
For our open sites, we highly recommend that if you want to visit one of our pubs, that you book ahead to make sure that we can accommodate you and your family safely. We are also open for bookings from the 17th May when we fully reopen. To make a booking you can book online via the website, or app if the restaurant has one. Whilst we will always try and accommodate walk-ins, due to social distancing measures this may not always be possible, or may incur a long wait. We strongly recommend for your own convenience that you book ahead. We take bookings on the day so even if it’s a last minute treat it's worth booking ahead.
Thank you for your understanding
