A unique city centre pub with a rich history
Nicholson’s Pubs are known for their individual style, exciting stories, and charming personalities — and The Clarence is certainly no exception.
The Clarence in Mayfair offers a welcoming retreat near you in the heart of London, with views overlooking The Ritz. Our pub offers fine hospitality, a great ale selection and speciality food.
Named after the Duke of Clarence, who later became King William IV, our location on Dover Street marks where Sir Alexander Bell's first successful telephone call was made. Dover Street also boasts a long line of famous residents, including 18th century poet Alexander Pope, Buckingham Palace architect John Nash and Polish composer Frederic Chopin.
Join us and enjoy the afternoon perusing our Beer Library at your leisure, which includes a range of literature, artefacts, and even the opportunity to purchase engraved tankards.
