Nicholson's focuses on sustainability

As the UK commits to the goal of net zero carbon emissions by 2050, those of us here at Nicholson’s are proud to say that we’re doing our part, looking over our carbon footprint and setting out a clear strategy to help our planet so you can enjoy British pub classics knowing everything’s truly taken care of.

We’re proud of where we’re currently at, but there’s always more that can be done. With a collection of historic pubs, we’ve been around a while and want to help protect the planet we’ve seen for so long. Our parent company Mitchell’s & Butlers are committed to positive change, through improvements and wise, sustainable choices.

o Reaching net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040 (Scopes 1, 2 and 3)

o Achieving zero waste to landfill by 2030

o The gradual reduction of food waste, with the goal being 50% by 2030

o Teaming up with FareShare to redistribute surplus food to communities who need it

o Our pubs are powered with 100% renewable electricity

o 96% of our operational waste is diverted from landfill, which we’re proud of!

o Nicholson’s are founding members of the Zero Carbon Forum, where we hope to reduce our emissions and draw up a Roadmap to Net Zero
