Skipper: Exclusive new collaboration cask ale from St Austell Brewery and Boston-based Harpoon Brewery

We’re lucky enough to be a part of an exciting new and exclusive cask ale production project from St Austell Brewery and the world renowned Harpoon Brewery. They’ve put their heads together to create a delicious pale ale concoction just for us... Welcome to our taps, Skipper!

This limited edition American Pale Ale is available for a short time only in all Nicholson’s establishments for you to try – but when it’s gone, it’s gone so don’t hang around!

Skipper, a 4.9% pale ale is an amber cask ale, boasting blackcurrant and lychee aromas with a rich and bitter fruit finish. It came to be after a member of Harpoon Brewery visited St Austell brewery in Cornwall whilst on a quest to find out more about UK brewing. After the visit, Roger Ryman, St Austell’s head brewer jetted out to Boston in March to help produce our delicious new collaborative ale.

Skipper utilises all-English ingredients combined with a ‘USA flair’, which has resulted in a pale ale with a contemporary twist. Due to the context in which it was brewed, Skipper earned its name from water-based antics the brewers participated in both in Boston and Cornwall. This nautical link demonstrated in the name, celebrates the shared passion – and proximity-  for water of both breweries.

We’re confident the new beer will be well received and we’re delighted to have it as an exclusive. Skipper is a flavoursome new beer and the coming together of these two breweries makes for a really exciting collaboration.

Enjoy Skipper whilst it lasts and get to your local to try it out!

Happy Tasting!
